Holstein Kiel will be aiming to build on a 3-2 win over Braunschweig when they face Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga round 22. Kiel quickly bounced back from a 3-2 loss to Magdeburg, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence, but they are still nine points behind the playoffs berth. Both Hauke Wahl and Marvin Schulz are banned for the match, while all Stefan Thesker, Fin Bartels, and Thomas Dahne remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The visitors, on the other hand, are eyeing their fifth consecutive league win.
