Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
Yeni 4 Eylul Stadyumu will host Thursday’s Conference League game between Sivasspor and Fiorentina. The Viola recorded a hard-fought 1-0 win over Sivasspor in the first leg, with Antonin Barak breaking the deadlock after 69 minutes, and, as a result, Vincenzo Italiano’s troops are with one foot in the quarter-finals. Serbia forward Luka Jovic is pushing for a start, whereas his compatriot Aleksa Terzic remains in the recovery room.
The Turks, on the other hand, will have a big fish to fry in the second leg. Since Sivasspor had no more than one shot on target in the Stadio Artemio Franchi defeat, we are not tempted to put our money on the home side. Since the hosts are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Thursday’s clash, we predict that Vincenzo Italiano’s troops are going seal the victory on the break. Ivory Coast international Max Gradel is banned for the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Christian Kouame):
Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.
Highlighted Team (Sivasspor):
Sivasspor is a Turkish football club based in the city of Sivas. The Red and Whites have been competiting in the Super Lig since 2005, but they have yet to win the domestic trophy. The club’s biggest came in the 2008/09 season when they finished the campaign in the second position in the standings, five points behind champions Besiktas.
As a result, they represented Turkey in the Champions League third qualifying round. Anderlecht proved to be a big catch for the Yigidolar in the qualifiers for the elite competition and, to make things even worse for the fans, the Red and Whites were beaten by Shakhtar Donetsk in the Europa League playoffs as well.
Sivasspor welcome their rivals at Sivas Stadium, which can hold up to 27,532 spectators. Max Gradel, Arouna Kone and Mustapha Yatabare are the notable players who play for the clubs. Sivasspor were founded on May 9, 1967.
