Hansa Rostock will be aiming to kick off the new 2. Bundesliga campaign in style when they face Nurnberg at Ostseestadion in Sunday’s matinee. Hansa did remarkably well to shock La Liga side Sevilla in their last pre-season friendly, which is certainly giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Nurnberg. Both Lukas Scherff and Oliver Husing are sidelined with injuries, while new signing Sebastian Vasiliadis should make his Hansa 2. Bundesliga debut against Nurnberg.
The Bavarians, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Unterhaching (2-1) and Munich 1860 (3-0), but seeing that Alois Schwartz’s troops are tough to beat at home, we predict that the two sides are going to share the spoils in the opening match of the season.
