Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
After surviving Karagumruk in the Turkish Super Lig on Monday evening, Besiktas will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face Neftci Baku in the Conference League third qualifying round, return leg. The Turks got their job done in the first leg (3-1), but they are still seen as hot favourites to win Thursday’s clash. Summer signings Daniel Amartey and Ante Rebic should return to the starting XI, while both Kalafat and Sanuc are sidelined with injuries.
Neftci Baku, on the other hand, face a tough challenge in Istanbul and seeing that Besiktas a real force to be reckoned with at home, anything but a routine home victory would be a big surprise. Experienced midfielder Azer Aliyev continues to miss out with injury for the visiting team, while USA international Kenny Saief is one yellow card away from suspension.
