Our prediction for this Belgium Pro League match:
Mechelen will look to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to St Truiden when they take on Leuven in the Jupiler League round 8. De Kakkers failed to extend their winning run to four games at the weekend, with the team losing to St Truiden on the road, but they are still seen as favourites to beat Leuven at home ground. Rafik Belghali limped off with injury in the last league match, with Sandy Walsh likely to step up. Jannes Van Hof misses out with a meniscus injury, but he should be the only absentee in the home team.
The visitors, on the other hand, aim to escape the relegation zone, but given Mechelen’s back-to-back wins over St Gilloise (4-0) and Eupen (1-0) on home soil, we do not belive that Marc Brys’ men are going to grab something from the match. As for the visiting team, Mathieu Maertens is sidelined with injury, while both Nathaniel Opoku and Alexandro Calut are major doubts and the duo will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
