Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Man City, Liverpool will look to climb to top position in the standings when they host Fulham to their Anfield. The Reds have been producing fine performances in the first half of the season, but they need to keep on making progress if they are to regain the trophy. Colombia winger Luis Diaz is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while all Andy Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic, and Thiago Alcantara continue to miss out with injuries.
The Cottagers, on the other hand, desperately needed a win against Wolverhampton and they managed to get one, with Willian scoring the winner from the penalty spot in the stoppage time. The capital club aim to give fans yet another reason to celebrate, but given their difficulties on the road, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Portugal midfielder Joao Palhinha is back from suspension, while all Adama Traore, Tyrese Francois, Rodrigo Muniz, and Issa Diop remain on the sidelines with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Mohamed Salah):
Mohamed Salah is considered one of the best African players. Salah began his senior career at El Mokawloon, scoring 11 goals in 41 league appearances for the club and in 2012 he moved to Europe, signing a four-year deal with Swiss side Basel.
The pacey winger, who is capable of playing as a striker as well was producing outstanding displays for the RotBlau from 2012 to 2014 and, as a result, Chelsea chiefs decided to sign him on 26 January, 2015 for a fee of £11 million. Mohamed Salah, though, failed to impress in the Premier league and one year later he was sent on loan to Fiorentina.
After making 16 league appearances for the Viola in the Serie A, the left-footed winger signed a loan deal with Roma on 6 August, 2015. The Romans made the contract permanent on 3 August, 2016. Speaking of his international career, Salah made his Egypt debut on 3 September, 2011 in a 2-1 loss to Sierra Leone. It has to be noted that he was named Roma’s player of the season (2015/2016).
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
