Our prediction for this MLS match:
Subaru Park will host Saturday’s football game between Philadelphia Union and Minnesota United, the two teams who defeated Portland Timbers and Los Angeles FC respectively in their last league matches. The U’s aim to remain undefeated in the 2024 MLS campaign and the bookies see them as favourites to beat the Loons on home soil. All Holden Trent, Isaiah LeFlore, and Leon Flach are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Minnesota, on the other hand, are eyeing their third consecutive league win, but seeing that Philadelphia are tough to beat at home, we are tempted to put our money on draw. Eric Ramsay has a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s encounter. You should bear in mind that the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in their last meeting at Subaru Park in the Major League Soccer.
Highlighted Player (Andre Blake):
Andre Blake is a Jamaican goalkeeper who plays for MLS club Philadelphia Union. Blake was born in May Pen, Jamaica, on November 21, 1990, but he went to the UConn college in United States of America. The 193-cm-tall shoot-stopper spent three years playing college football and in 2014 he signed a professional contract with Philadelphia Union.
Andre Blake made his debut for the U in July 2014 in a friendly game against Crystal Palace and he played his first MLS match against Montreal Impact. Speaking of his international career, the goalkeeper made his Jamaica debut on March 2, 2014 in a 2-0 victory over Barbados. Later that year Andre Blake won the Caribbean Cup with the Reggae Boyz as they defeated Trinidad and Tobago on penalties in the title game.
Over the years Blake has established himself as a first-team regular and, no doubt, there is a bright future ahead of him. The Philadelphia Union shoot-stopper wears the number 18 on his shirt.
Highlighted Team (Minnesota United):
Based in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, Minnesota United are a professional soccer club that will compete in the Western Conference in the Major League Soccer from 2017. The Loons will make their MLS debut against Portland Timbers on March 4, 2017 and, no doubt, they have big ambitions for the forthcoming season.
Minnesota United are the sixth team to join MLS from a lower division and they will welcome their rivals at TCF Bank Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is 52.525 and it was opened in September, 2009. Bill McGuire is the club’s owner and he is on a quest to turn Minnesota United into a top-table side in the Western Conference.
Adrian Heath will be in charge of the club in the 2017 season and it has to be noted that the English tactician used to train the likes of Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa and Espanyol in the past. You should know that the club was founded on March 25, 2015.
