Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Burnley will be aiming to keep their survival hopes alive when they face Brighton on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets failed to win the previous three league matches, but it seems as if their performances are much better than the results. Dara O’Shea is banned for the match, while all Ameen Al Dakhil, Aaron Ramsey, Louis Jordan Beyer, and Luca Koleosho are out of contention with injuries.
The Seagulls, on the other hand, produced an under-par display in a 3-0 loss to Arsenal and given the importance of Saturday’s clash for Burnley, home win should be considered. All Adam Webster, Evan Ferguson, Billy Gilmour, Jack Hinshelwood, Kaoru Mitoma, and James Milner continue to miss out with injuries for the visiting side. Fit-again Brazil forward Joao Pedro is pushing for a start after coming as a substitute in the last league match. In the first half of the season Burnley managed to hold Brighton to a draw at Amex Stadium.
Highlighted Player (Joao Pedro):
Joao Pedro played for Atletico Mineiro during his youth career and he made no less than 11 appearances for the club at senior level. The Brazilian footballer, who was born on 9 March, 1992 in Ipatinga, signed a deal with Palermo on 30 August, 2010 and he made his debut for the Sicilian outfit in the Serie A on 17 January, 2011.
He came as a substitute to replace Josip Ilicic in a 3-1 defeat to Cagliari. On 29 January, 2011 he joined Vitoria Guimaraes on loan and on 19 August he was loaned to Penarol of Uruguay. After ending his loan spell with the Uruguayan team, the Brazilian midfielder joined Santos and he played 10 games for the Brazilian team.
On 1 July he signed a contract with Estoril and he moved to Cagliari at the end of the season. Joao Pedro has 11 caps for Brazil U17 and he scored one goal for the national team.
Highlighted Team (Burnley):
Burnley were one of the founding members of the Football League back in 1888. The Clarets did remarkably well to win the FA Cup trophy back in 1914 and the club owners have been trying to bring glory days back to Turf Moor ever since.
Burnley defeated Liverpool in the 1913/1914 FA Cup final and, no doubt, this is regarded as the greatest achievement in the club’s history. The Clarets finished the 2015/2016 Championship campaign in top position in the standings and, as a result, they will participate in the English Premier League in the 2016/2017 season.
Burnley play their home games at Turf Moor and the capacity of the stadium is 21,401. The Clarets have won two Community Shield trophies so far, in 1960 and 1973, but they have yet to clinch the Premier League title. Claret is the dominant colour of the team’s home shirts.
