Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
All eyes will be on Johan Cruijff Arena when Ajax and Twente lock horns in a highly-anticipated Eredivisie game. The Amsterdammers aim to recover from an embarrassing 6-0 loss to Feyenoord and we are positive that they will leave their hearts on the field in Sunday’s encounter. Forward Chuba Akpom is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while all Diant Ramaj, Olivier Aertssen, and Jordan Henderson remain in the recovery room. Steven Berghuis is a major doubt.
The Reds, on the other hand, defeated ten-man Fortuna Sittard 2-0 in their last league match, with the team moving one step closer to booking their spot in the Champions League. As Twente are eight points clear of third-place AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie standings, they should be happy with one point from Sunday’s clash. Taking everything into account, the share of spoils is on the horizon. Myron Boadu should be the only absentee in the away team.
Highlighted Player (Steven Bergwijn):
Steven Bergwin is a product of ASC Waterwijk football school, but in 2009 he was spotted by Ajax scouts. In 2011 he moved to PSG and he continued playing for the club’s reserve team at senior level. He made his debut with the senior team on May 20, 2015 in a 2-0 win over Heracles.
Over the years the Dutch footballer born in Amsterdam on October 8, 1997, has established himself as a first-team regular at PSV, earning a call-up for the national team as well. Steven Bergwijn made his Netherlands debut on October 12, 2018 in a 3-0 win over Germany. His main position is left winger, but he is used as both right winger and centre-forward as well.
His preferred foot is right and it has to be noted that his parents are of Suriname descent, he has a dual citizenship. Bergwijn scored 14 goals in 33 appearances for PSV in the 2018/2019 Eredivisie season.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
