Our prediction for this Champions League match:
Sparkles will be flying when Dynamo Kyiv and Rangers square off against each other in an eagerly-awaited Champions League double-header. Dynamo Kyiv rolled over Serbian vice-champions Partizan in round 2, but they face a difficult challenge against the Scottish powerhouse. Defender Maksym Dyachuk is a major doubt after limping off with injury in the Belgrade triumph, with Kristian Bilovar being ready to step up.
The Gers, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Union Berlin in their last warm-up game. Even though Dynamo Kyiv crushed Partizan in the second qualifying round, we are tempted to put our money on draw this time out as the two sides seem to be evenly matched at the moment. Summer signing Hamza Igamane is widely expected to make his official Rangers debut against Dynamo Kyiv as well as former FC Twente centre-back Robin Propper.
Highlighted Player (Tom Lawrence):
Tom Lawrence is a Welsh footballer who plays as a winger for Championship side Derby County. Born in Wrexham (Wales) on January 13, 1994, Tom Lawrence played for Everton and Manchester United during his youth career.
The 180-cm-tall footballer, though, made no more than one appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League as he was immediately sent on loan to Carlisle United. The Wales international played for the likes of Yeovil Town, Leicester City, Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town as well before signing a contract with Derby County. Tom Lawrence’s main position is left winger, but he is used as both second striker and right winger as well.
The Derby County man made his Wales debut in November 2015 in a 3-2 loss to Netherlands. The highlight of his career is the goal he scored against Georgia in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. His preferred foot is right and he wears No. 10 jersey at Derby County.
Highlighted Team (Dynamo Kyiv):
The most successful football club in Ukraine, Dynamo Kyiv has not been relegated to a lower division since its inception in 1927. First founded as a part of the Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, Dynamo Kyiv became a member of the Ukrainian Premier League after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
Over the course of its rich history, Dynamo Kyiv has won the total of 28 national titles, 13 of which came during the Soviet era. In addition, Dynamo Kyiv won 20 national cup competitions, while it also grabbed 3 major continental trophies, including two UEFA Cup Winners’ Cups. Oleh Blokhin remains to this date the most successful player of the Ukrainian giants with his 266 goals scored for the Kyiv club.
However, current Ukraine national team head coach Andriy Shevchenko is arguably the most recognisable player in Dynamo Kyiv history. Former Milan and Chelsea star scored the total of 124 goal during his two stints with the Ukrainian club.
