Our prediction for this MLS match:
Los Angeles FC will look to restart their MLS campaign in style when they take on Houston Dynamo on Sunday morning. The Black and Gold have not been in action in the national championship since July 21, but they did well to beat Seattle Sounders in the US Open Cup in midweek. All Cristian Olivera, Timothy Tillman, and Lorenzo Dellavalle are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
The Orange Crush, on the other hand, are eager to stay in the playoffs berth, but given Los Angeles FC’s excellent home record (9-3-1), we predict that the visitors are going to return to Texas with their hands empty. Both Adalberto Carrasquilla and Nelson Quinones are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team. In their last meeting at BMO Stadium Los Angeles FC defeated Houston Dynamo 3-1.
Highlighted Player (Hector Herrera):
Mexico international Hector Herrera is a 26-year-old midfielder playing for Portugal giants FC Porto. Herrera began his career with Pachuca in 2010 and spent three years at the club before being sold to Porto. During his first season with the Dragons Herrera struggled for playing time, but he went on to cement his place in the starting eleven, becoming one of the most valuable players for the club.
Herrera has since them racked up over 110 performances for the Portugal side, scoring over 20 goals in the process. Full Mexico international since 2012, Hector Herrera represented his country at the 2014 World Cup.
During the summer of 2016 Herrera was heavily linked with a move away from Porto and was reported to have made a personal agreement with Italian side Napoli, but the €25 million asking price proved to be a stumbling block that ended up ruining the deal.
Highlighted Team (Los Angeles FC):
Seeing that Los Angeles FC will be competing in Major League Soccer from the 2018 season, the club chiefs did well to reinforce the squad. Several high-profile players joined the club in the winter of 2018, with Mexican ace Carlos Vela being the biggest name to sign a deal with LAFC.
The new expansion team will host their rivals at Banc of California, the stadium which is planned to be opened on April 29, 2018. The venue should hold up to 22,000 spectators. Los Angeles FC will be coached by Bob Bradley in the 2018 MLS campaign and they will be wearing black and gold kits in the USA professional soccer league. Speaking of their bitterest rivals, there will be fireworks when Los Angeles FC face LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer.
District 9 Ultras and Black Army 1850 are considered the club's biggest supporters groups and it has to be noted that they used to support Chivas USA. Los Angeles FC were founded on October 30, 2014.
