Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
High-flying Aberdeen will look to extend their winning run to ten games in all competitions when they take on Motherwell on Saturday afternoon. The Dons are eager to keep their 100% record intact and they are seen as hot favourites to win the round 5 clash. Jamie McGrath limped off with injury in a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ross County, with Kevin Nisbet likely to step up.
The Well, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Hearts and St Johnstone, but Aberdeen will pose a much bigger threat for the visiting side than their previous rivals. Given Aberdeen’s excellent form at the start of the season, we do not believe that the visitors are capable of grabbing something from the match. To make things even worse for the away team, Zach Robinson suffered an injury in the last league fixture.
Highlighted Team (Aberdeen):
Nicknamed the Dons, Aberdeen are professional football club that compete in the Scottish Premiership. Pittodrie Stadium is the club’s home ground, and it can hold up to 20,866 spectators. The Dons were one of the dominant forces in Scottish football during Sir Alex Ferguson’s era, with the team winning three Scottish League titles from 1980 to 1985.
However, Aberdeen clinched their first domestic trophy in the 1954/55 season, with the team finishing the process three points clear of Scottish giants Celtic. The club’s biggest success came in the 1982/83 season when they defeated the famous Spanish club Real Madrid 2-1 in the title game. Later in 1983, Aberdeen won the UEFA Super Cup as they defeated Hamburger SV 2-0 at Volksparkstadion.
The Dons are well known for their red home kit, while away shirt has a shiny gold base colour. Inverness Caledonian are considered one of the club’s biggest rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the North derby.
