Athletic Bilbao
After failing to win the last four league matches, Girona will look to get back on course in La Liga when they face Athletic Bilbao on Matchday 9. The Catalans have been struggling to find their best form of late, but Sunday’s football game could be the turning point for the home side. As important first-team regulars Daley Blind and Oriol Romeu suffered injuries in a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo, home win should not be considered. Both Donny van de Beek and David Lopez are likely to sneak into the starting XI.
The Lions, on the other hand, have been producing fine performances ever since Williams brothers reunited. With three wins from the last four league fixtures, the Basques are surely capable of spoiling Girona’s party in Catalonia. In their last meeting in the Spanish top flight Athletic Club defeated Girona 3-2, which goes in favour of our earlier prediction. Goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala is banned for the match and seeing that Unai Simon remains in the recovery room, Mexico shoot-stopper Alejandro Padilla should start in goal.

Inaki Williams is one of the most talented Spanish players. The pacey winger, who plays as a centre-forward as well, started his senior career at Basconia, scoring seven goals in 18 appearances for the club. In 2014 he moved to Athletic Bilbao, but he played for the reserve team at the beginning.
Inaki impressed in the 2014/2015 season with Athletic Bilbao B and, as a result, he was given a chance to prove his worth in the Spanish top flight with the first team. The Spanish footballer made his La liga debut on December 6, 2014, replacing injured attacker Aritz Aduriz in a 1-0 loss to Cordoba.
Inaki Williams represented Spain at the 2017 U21 European Championship in Poland and he played 20 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Germany in the final of the tournament. Speaking of the senior squad, the Athletic Bilbao footballer made his Spain debut in a 3-1 victory over Bosnia on May 29, 2016. Inaki Williams was born in Bilbao on June 15, 1994.

After several unsuccessful attempts, finally secured promotion to Primera Division at the end of the 2016/2017 season. The Catalan outfit finished the campaign in second place in the standings, 14 points behind Levante and only two clear of third-placed Getafe. Speaking of the club history, Girona were founded in the café Norat in La Rambla of Girona on July 23, 1930 and they played their first official game against Colonia Artigas. A number of Spanish coaches were in charge of the team in the past, but it has to be noted that Uruguayan tactician Dagoberto Moll (1965/1966) and Karoly Plattko (1948/1949) of Hungary were in charge of the club as well.
