Espanyol
Estadio Municipal de Montilivi will host Saturday’s Catalan derby between Girona and Espanyol. The hosts aim to build on back-to-back wins over Leganes and Getafe and they are seen as hot favourites to win the round 14 clash as well. Yangel Herrera suffered an injury while on international break, joining the likes of Ladislav Krejci, Yaser Asprilla, Portu, Abel Ruiz, and Viktor Tsygankov in the recovery room.
Los Periquitos, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing run in the Spanish top flight and given their difficulties on the road, we are tempted to place our bets on Girona. The likes of Marash Kumbulla, Pol Lozano, Jose Gragera, Fernando Calero, and Eduardo Exposito miss out with injuries for the visiting side. You should know that Girona defeated Espanyol 2-1 in their last meeting at the venue, which goes in favour of our earlier prediction.
Highlighted Player (Christian Stuani):
Cristhian Stuani is considered one of the best Uruguay attackers. Stuani was born on 12 October, 1986 and he began his senior career at Danubio. He impressed with the Uruguayan outfit, scoring 23 goals in 36 appearances for the club and, as a result, he became a target for a number of top European clubs.
In 2008 he signed a contract with Reggina, but he failed to impress in 17 appearances for the Italian team. After spending the 2012/2013 season on loan at Espanyol, Christian Stuani signed a permanent deal with the Catalan side in 2013. Stuani scored 12 goals in 37 league appearances for Espanyol in the 2014/2015 Primera Division campaign, but at the end of the season he moved to Middlesbrough for a reported €3 million fee.
The 186-cm-tall striker made his Uruguay debut on 14 November, 2012 in a friendly win over Poland. Stuani also represented la Celeste at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Espanyol are a Catalan club that plays in Spanish La Liga. Espanyol were founded in 1900 and their original name was Sociedad Espanola de Football. In 1901 the Catalan club changed its name to Club Espanol de Futbol. Los Periquitos used to play in bright yellow shirts in the past, but current colour of the team’s home kit is blue and white.
Espanyol’s fiercest rivals are Barcelona and the two teams face each other in the Catalan derby (Derbi barceloni). Espanyol have always been in Barca’s shadow, but it has to be noted that los Periquitos have won four Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup trophies).
The likes of Raul Tamudo, Jose Maria, Antonio Argiles and Mauricio Pochettino are players with most appearances for the Catalan outfit. Espanyol play their home games at Estadio Cornella-El Prat and the capacity of the stadium is 40,500. Los Periquitos have never participated in the Champions League.
