Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Craven Cottage will be the centre of attention when Fulham and Arsenal go head to head in a London derby on Sunday. The Cottagers showcased their worth in a 3-1 win over Brighton and, no doubt, they will be looking to claim a major scalp when they face their local rivals on Matchday 15. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Alex Iwobi, who scored a brace in the midweek triumph, while both Harrison Reed and Joachim Andersen continue to miss out with injuries.
The Gunners, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-0 win over Manchester United. Mikel Arteta’s men are on a four-game winning run in all competitions and given Fulham’s attacking potential at home ground, a high-scoring affair is on the cards. Anyhow, the title hopefuls are closer to picking up all three points from the match than the hosts. Speaking of the away side, Mikel Merino is pushing for a start, while defensive duo Calafiori – Gabriel should be fit for the local derby.
Highlighted Player (Thomas Partey):
After starting his youth career at Odometah, Thomas Partey was spotted by Atletico Madrid scouts in 2011 and he soon joined the Estadio Vicente Calderon outfit. Thomas Partey made his Ghana debut in a 2-0 win over Mauritius in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match. His main position is defensive midfield, but the Atletico Madrid man is capable of playing as a central midfielder as well. Partey scored two goals for los Rojiblancos in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign.
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
