Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Selhurst Park will host a local derby between Crystal Palace and Brentford, the two teams that are almost level on points in the Premier League table. The Eagles have been in a fine form of late, winning three of their last four league matches and they must be high on confidence following a 2-0 win over West Ham United. Adam Wharton continues to miss out with injury, while Jefferson Lerma should be fit for the London derby.
The Bees, on the other hand, were on the verge of holding Liverpool to a draw when Darwin Nunez scored two goals in the stoppage time. As Brentford have been struggling on the travels this season, we are tempted to put our money on Palace, who have been in a fine form of late. In their last meeting at the venue, Crystal Palace recorded a 3-1 win over Brentford, who will be without Aaron Hickey, Joshua Dasilva, Ethan Pinnock, and Kristoffer Ajer in Sunday’s clash.
Highlighted Player (Eberechi Eze):
Eberechi Eze is a talented football player who was born in Greenwich, England on June 29, 1998. Eze started his youth career at Millwall and in the summer of 2016 he moved to Queens Park Rangers, signing a one-year contract with the capital club.
Eze scored 4 goals in 42 appearances for the Hoops in the 2018/2019 Championship campaign, while providing 4 assists for his teammates. His main position is attacking midfield, but he is capable of playing as both right and left midfielder as well. Eze is a footballer of Nigerian descent, but he has yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles in international matches.
Given his place of birth, the 173-cm tall midfielder was eligible to play for the England U20 team and he made his debut for the Three Lions on October 11, 2018 in a 2-1 victory over Italy. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Brentford):
Based in London, Brentford compete in the Championship and they were founded in 1898. Griffin Park has been the home ground of the club since 1904 and the capacity of the venue is 12,300.
The Bees have yet to play in the Premier League and it has to be noted that they made it to the FA Cup sixth round on four occasions (1937/1938, 1945/1946,1948/1949, 1988/1989). Brentford played in the League Cup round 4 in the 1982/1983 and 2010/2011 season and that is the club’s biggest success in the competition.
Brentford’s main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers and they take on each other in the West London Derby. The rivalry with the Cottagers is probably the biggest and you should bear in mind that the clashes between the two teams have their history of crowd violence. The colour of Brentford’s shirts is red and white and they wear black shorts.
