Our prediction for this Gold Cup match:
All eyes will be on State Farm Stadium when Mexico and Saudi Arabia lock horns in the 2025 Gold Cup quarter-finals. El Tri faced no difficulties in the group stages and they are seen as hot favourites to win Sunday’s showdown as well. With no fresh injury worries to report, Mexico boss Javier Aguirre is unlikely to make changes to the team that shared the spoils with Mexico at the weekend.
The Gold Cup guests, on the other hand, clinched second place in Group D to set up a meeting with Raul Jimenez and Co. Mexico, though, are a more experienced side than Saudi Arabia when it comes to the Gold Cup final, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. You should bear in mind that El Tri have defeated the Green Falcons in each of their last four meetings in all competitions. Herve Renard has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the State Farm Stadium clash.
Highlighted Player (Orbelin Pineda):

Orbelin Pineda is Mexican footballer who plays for Guadalajara as a midfielder. Pineda was born in Mexico City on March 24, 1996 and he started his youth career Queretaro at the age of 16. The Mexican footballer continued playing for Queretaro at senior level, but after scoring 8 goals in 44 appearances for the club, he moved to Guadalaraja in 2016.
Pineda is a fantastic reader of the game and he is technically very sharp. Speaking of his international career, Orbelin Pineda made his debut with Mexico national team on September 6, 2018 against Honduras. The two teams faced each other in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification and played out a goalless draw.
Pineda came as a substitute for Jesu Duenas in the 71st minute of the match. He scored his only goal for the Mexico national team in a 3-1 win over El Salvador at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. In 2018 he won the CONCACAF Champions League title with Guadalajara.
Highlighted Team (Saudi Arabia):

Saudi Arabia Football Federation was established back in 1956, but the Saudis qualified for a major tournament 28 years later, when they participated in the AFC Asian Cup. In 1988 Saudi Arabia won their first trophy, with the team beating South Korea in the Asian Cup final.
Eight years later they repeated the success and it has to be noted that they have been playing at the Asian Cup finals ever since. Speaking of their appearances at the FIFA World Cup finals, the Green Falcons did well to qualify for the 1994 tournament, where they made it to the last 16. Saudi Arabia participated at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 tournament as well, but they missed out on a place at the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.
However, the Asian side booked their place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia thanks to a win over Japan in their last group game in the qualifiers. Saudi Arabia’s home kits are white, whilst they wear green jerseys and shirts when playing on the road.
