Our prediction for this League 1 match:
LNER Stadium will host Tuesday’s football game between Lincoln City and Wigan Athletic. Lincoln suffered elimination in the FA Cup at the weekend, meaning that they will be fully focused on the League One in the remainder of the season. The Imps defeated Swindon on the road in their last league fixture, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Wigan.
The Latics, on the other hand, have been struggling in the 2020/21 season, with the team collecting only 8 points from possible 38. Wigan Athletic are on a four-game losing run on the road in the League One, which is probably the main reason why we are tempted to put our money on the promotion-chasing side. In their last meeting at LNER Stadium back in 1998 Lincoln City defeated Wigan Athletic 1-0.
Highlighted Player (Liam Bridcutt ):

Liam Robert Bridcutt is a professional footballer who plays for Lincoln City as a defensive midfielder. Born in Reading, England on May 8, 1989, Bridcutt is a product of the Chelsea football academy, but he did not see any game action for the Blues at senior level. After ending his loan spells with Yeovil Town, Watford, and Stockport County, the 175-cm footballer signed a five-month contract with Brighton where he established himself as a first-team regular.
After making 132 appearances in the league for the Seagulls, Liam Bridcutt moved to Sunderland in the winter of 2014. He played for the likes of Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers as well before joining Lincoln City in January, 2020.
His main position is defensive midfield, but he is used as a central midfielder as well. The Lincoln City player has a dual citizenship (Scotland/England), and it has to be noted that he has two caps with the Scotland national team.
Highlighted Team (Wigan):

Wigan Athletic are one of the winners of the English FA Cup. The Latics won the prestigious trophy in 2013, with the team upsetting Manchester City in the title game. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but it has to be noted that Wigan played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2013/2014 season.
Wigan have been playing their home games at the DW Stadium since 1999 and they had played at Springfield Park in the past. Chorley are considered Wigan’s fierce rivals, but the two teams last met in 1971, when they competed in the Northern Premier League. The likes of Preston North End, Bury, Oldham Athletic, Burnley and Blackburn Rovers are regarded as Wigan Athletic’s rivals as well.
The club was founded in 1932 and they competed in the English Premier League from 2005 to 2013. The colour of Wigan’s home kit is blue and white (stripes).
