Peru and Colombia go head to head at Estadio Nacional in the World Cup qualifiers round 7. La Blanquirroja made a slow start to their qualifying campaign, with the team collecting only one point in total in the process. The Peruvians aim to put an end to their three-game losing run, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach in Friday’s game. Both Santiago Ormeno and Jefferson Farfan have been left out of the squad, while veteran attacker Paolo Guerrero made the cut.
New names in Peru’s team are Lora, Garces, Iberico, and Valera. Colombia, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a heavy 6-1 loss to Ecuador. However, home win should be considered as the Colombians will be without Premier League ace James Rodriguez in Friday’s qualifier. Juan Fernando Quintero has been left out of the squad as well.
Highlighted Player (Beto da Silva):
Born in Lima, Peru on December 28, 1996, Beto Da Silva is a Peruvian footballer who began his senior career at Sporting Cristal. The pacey attacker scored six goals in 16 appearances in the league for los Celestes and in 2016 he joined Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
Da Silva signed a two-and-half year deal with PSV and he was immediately sent to Jong PSV. The Brazilian striker scored four goals in 27 appearances in Earste Divisie and on January 6, 2017 he was promoted to the senior team. Da Silva was an unused substitute in a 2-0 victory over Excelsior, but he did not see any game action for the the Boeren in the Eredivisie.
In the winter of 2017 he returned to his boyhood club Gremio, signing a four-year deal with the Brazilian club. Speaking of his international career, Beto da Silva made his Peru debut on May 23, 2016 in a friendly game against Trinidad & Tobago.

Passionate about their football team, Colombians have formed a huge fan base which enjoyed in their team’s impressive run to the 2014 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals at the competition in which Real Madrid star James Rodriguez was awarded the Golden Boot for most goals and the Best Goal of the Tournament awards. Jose Pekerman’s team has also been named the Fair Play team at the same event.
The fans were pretty disappointed to see their team reach the quarter-final stage at the 2015 Copa America though as Colombia crashed out in disappointing fashion losing to Argentina after a penalty kick. Radamel Falcao remains the most prominent star of the current team despite his poor spells with Manchester United and Chelsea respectively. Monaco striker is also the team’s top scorer with 25 goals added to his name.
