Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Las Palmas take on Almeria at their Estadio de Gran Canaria in what is expected to be a very exciting game. Las Palmas are undefeated at home ground, but they face a difficult task in Saturday’s football match against Almeria. The bad news for the hosts is that first-choice defender Alex Suarez misses the game through suspensions. The Andalusians, on the other hand have yet to find their best form in the 2020/21 season.
Almeria, though, are still seen as one of the main candidates to secure promotion to La Liga, and they should take advantage of Alex Suarez’s absence in the starting XI. In their last meeting in the national championship Las Palmas defeated Almeria, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge. Experienced attacker Juan Villar is widely expected to lead the line for the visitors against Las Palmas.
Highlighted Player (Martin Mantovani):
After spending his youth career at Banfield, Kimberley and Cadetes San Martin, Martin Mantovani signed for Atletico Madrid in 2006. The Argentine defender played seven games for Atletico Madrid B in the 2009/2010 season and he joined Cultural Leonesa at the end of the season. He made 32 appearances for Leonesa in the 2010/2011 season and in 2011 he moved to Atletico Baleares.
Despite establishing himself as a starter at Atletico Baleares, he decided to join Oviedo in 2012. He played for los Azules in the 2012/2013 campaign and at the end of the season he was sent on loan to Leganes. After impressing with Leganes in the 2013/2014 campaign, the club chiefs decided to sign a permanent deal with the Argentine centre back.
He played regularly for the club in the 2015/2016 Segunda Division campaign and, no doubt, he helped the team secure promotion to Spanish elite division. Martin Mantovani was born on 11 August, 1984 in San Miguel. Mantovani’s contract with Leganes expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
