Our prediction for this Sweden Allsvenskan match:
Despite beating Malmo 2-0 in the Allsvenskan derby at the weekend, Hammarby still have slim chances of winning the trophy as they are three points behind league leaders Djurgarden ahead of the penultimate game of the season. The Bajen are on a six-game winning run in the Swedish top flight and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Ostersunds.
Since the hosts are five points clear of the relegation zone with two matches to go until the end of the season, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the second-placed side. Alexander Kacanilikic, who scored his 9th goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Malmo, will be one of the men to keep an eye on in the away team. Anyhow, the visitors are likely to pick up all three points from Sunday’s football game.
Highlighted Player (Aron Johannsson):
Aron Johannsson is a 25-year-old striker who plays for the German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and the United States national side. He started his career with Iceland club Fjolnir before joining Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in 2013.
He had a prolific stay at the Eredivisie before signing for Werder Bremen in 2015 for a transfer fee in the region of € 5 million. However he made limited appearances for them due to a hip injury. Johannsson is a former Iceland U-21 international but made his senior debut for the United States in 2013. He was part of the American squad which finished fourth at the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup scoring in the quarter-final win over Cuba.
He already has 19 senior caps to his name along with two goals to his credit. Johannsson is known as a very mobile striker and scores goals at an excellent rate – as was evident in his stay at Alkmaar.
Highlighted Team (Ostersunds):
Against all odds, Ostersunds made it to the 2017/2018 Europa League group stages. Despite being regarded as big underdogs in the two-legged tie against PAOK, the Swedish club did well to shock the Greek side in the play-off round and, as a result, they will have a chance to prove their worth on the big stage.
Ostersunds will face the likes of Zorya, Hertha and Athletic Bilbao in Group J and they will welcome their rivals at their Jamtkraft Arena. The stadium was opened on July 13, 2007 and the capacity of the venue is 8.466. Ostersunds, who were promoted to the Swedish top flight in 2016, did well to win the 2016/2017 Swedish Cup and that is considered as the club’s biggest success. The club was founded in 1996 and they are well known for their jerseys with red and black stripes.
Ostersunds play their away games in white shirts and white shorts and the likes of Saman Ghoddos, Jamie Hopcutt, Jamal Blackman, Samuel Mensiro, Michael Tidser, David Accam, Brian Wake, Lee Makel and Connor Ripley are the notable footballers who played for the Swedish club in the past.
