Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
IMG Academy will host Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier between Bermuda and Cayman Islands, the two teams who were beaten by Suriname (0-6) and Aruba (1-3) respectively in their last group games. Bermuda obviously struggle at the back, but bookies still see them as favourites to beat Cayman Islands on home soil. Attacker LeJuan Simmons, who suffered an injury in the loss to Suriname, is unlikely to feature against Cayman Islands.
Benjamin Pugh’s troops, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom of Group B, with the team already conceding 17 goals in the process. Cayman Islands have been serving as a cannon fodder for their rivals in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Bermuda’s party at IMG Academy. In the previous meeting between the two teams on the international stage they played out a goalless draw, but home win should be considered this time out.
