Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Independence Park in Kingston will host the 2022 World Cup qualifier between Jamaica and Panama. Jamaica aim to bounce back from a 2-1 loss to Mexico, and seeing that they were on the verge of holding El Tri to a draw at Estadio Azteca, the Reggae Boyz are surely capable of beating Panama at home ground. Considering that both Premier League stars Leon Bailey and Michail Antonio return to contention, home win should be considered.
Los Canaleros, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Costa Rica in the opening match of the final qualifying stage. Panama, though, are not regarded as good travelers, and we do not believe that they are capable of grabbing something from the Independence Park showdown. In their last meeting in a competitive match Jamaica defeated Panama thanks to Darren Mattocks’ goal at the 2019 Gold Cup.
Highlighted Player (Wes Morgan):
Wes Morgan is an experienced 32-year-old defender who plays for English Premier League team Leicester City and the Jamaica national team. Morgan spent majority of his career at his boyhood club Nottingham Forest playing more than 400 games for them across 10 seasons. He was their longest-serving player when he transferred to Leicester City in 2012.
Morgan soon became the captain of Leicester City and had great success with the Foxes most notably winning the Championship title in 2014 and the Premier League title in 2016. Morgan was born and brought up in England but chose to represent his ancestral nation at international level.
He debuted for Jamaica in 2013 and was part of the teams that competed in the 2015 Copa America. He was also a successful member of the Jamaican team that finished second in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Morgan is a tough tackling defender and is a sturdy presence at the back.
Highlighted Team (Panama):
Norway are a Nordic side that participated three times at the FIFA World Cup finals (1938, 1994 and 1998). The Norwegians were producing fine performances at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, with the team setting up a meeting with Italy in the last 16 of the showpiece tournament thanks to a 2-1 win over Brazil in their last group match.
However, the Azzurri proved to be a big catch for Norway and thanks to Bobo Vieri’s goal the Italians made it to the quarter-finals. Norway only once qualified for the European Championship finals, with the team suffering elimination in the group stages of the 2000 tournament in Belgium and Netherlands. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the most famous Norwegian player and it is well known that he helped Manchester United beat Bayern Munich in the 1999 Champions League final.
The “Baby-faced” striker scored the winner for the Red Devils in the dying seconds of the match. Norway play their home games at Ullevaal Stadion, which was opened in September, 1926. The capacity of the venue is 28.000.
