Montenegro
Skonto stadions will host Wednesday’s WC qualifier between Latvia and Montenegro. The Latvians aim to build on a thrilling 5-0 win over Andorra, but Montenegro are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals. The former Soviet republic have always been struggling in matches against top-table sides, which is probably the main reason why home win should not be considered.
The Montenegrins, on the other hand, aim to build on a 4-0 win over Cyprus. Key attacker Stevan Jovetic has been producing fine displays with Monaco of late, and seeing that new boss Miodrag Radulovic can count on Sporting Gijon striker Uros Djurdjevic for the upcoming qualifying matches, we believe that there is a big value in betting on “Brave Falcons”. When the two teams met in a friendly last year they played out a 1-1 draw, but we are tempted to put our money on the visitors this time out.
Highlighted Player (Nikola Vukcevic):
Nikola Vukcevic is yet another Montenegro footballer who plays for Braga as a midfielder. The 184-cm-tall player was born in Podgorica on 13 December, 1991. Vukcevic began his senior career at his hometown club Buducnost Podgorica and he was part of the team from 2010 to 2013.
The Montenegro footballer scored four goals in 65 league appearances for the club. In 2013 he joined Braga as a free player and he initially played for the reserve team. After making 31 appearances for Braga B he made his debut for the first team against Vitoria, coming from the bench in the stoppage time. Speaking of his international career, Nikola Vukcevic made his Montenegro debut against Ghana on 5 March, 2014 in a friendly game.
The Hrabri sokoli defeated the Black Stars back then. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he plays as a central midfielder and as attacking midfielder as well. Nikola’s contract with Braga expires on 30 June, 2020.

Montenegro is yet another former Yugoslavian republic. The Montenegrins declared their independence in 2006 and they played their first official match under the name of Montenegro in March, 2007. The Hrabri sokoli defeated Hungary in their first official game, with the team coming from behind to beat the Hungarians.
Serie A superstar Mirko Vucinic and Igor Burzanovic scored for Montenegro in the 2-1 triumph over Hungary. Montenegro national football team participated in the UEFA Euro 2012 playoffs and that is regarded as the team’s biggest success. The Hrabri sokoli faced Czech Republic in the double-header, but they eventually failed to book their place at the showpiece tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
Aforementioned attacker Mirko Vucinic is seen as one of the most famous footballers who played for the Montenegro national team, but we should mention former Manchester City ace Stevan Jovetic as well. Montenegro play their home games at Stadion Pod Goricom and they recorded their biggest win against San Marino (6-0) in September, 2012.
