Denmark
Israel kick off their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a match against Denmark at their Bloomfield Stadium. Israel host Denmark with a limited number of fans, but Willi Ruttensteiner’s troops are still seen as underdogs in Thursday’s clash. It has to be noted that Israel were beaten by Denmark in each of the previous four meetings between the two national teams.
The Danes, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from the Nations League defeat to Belgium. Despite the lack of minutes at Inter, Christian Eriksen made the cut and Barcelona attacker Martin Braithwaite will be yet another man to watch in the away team. Denmark are more of a team than Israel, and we predict that the visitors will pick up all three points from the opener. In the previous meeting between two teams Denmark defeated Israel 2-0.
Highlighted Player (Moanes Dabour):
Born in Nazareth on May 14, 1992, Moanes Dabour is an Israel international who plays for Red Bull Salzburg in Austrian Bundesliga. Dabour played in Israeli clubs Maccabi Nazareth and Maccabi Tel Aviv during his youth career and it has to be noted that he played for the two teams at senior level as well.
In 2014 he joined Swiss side Grasshopper and after scoring 41 goals in 82 appearances in the league for the club, he moved to Austria, signing a deal with big-spending Red Bull Salzburg. In 2017 Moanes Dabour was scoring goals for fun in the 2018/2019 Champions League qualifiers, but that eventually did not help the Red Bulls book their place in the group stages of the elite competition.
Speaking of his international career, Moanes Dabour made his Israel debut against Honduras on June 1 2014. Israel won the game 4-2, but the Salzburg attacker failed to mark his debut with a goal. Dabour opened his goal-scoring account with the Israeli national team in September, 2015 in a 4-0 win over Andorra.

The Denmark national team participated at the World Cup finals on four occasions and they recorded their best result at the 1998 tournament. The Danes made it to the quarter-finals of the 1998 World Cup in France, but Brazil proved to be a big catch for the Nordic side. De Rod-Hvide did remarkably well to win the 1992 European Championship, but they were more than fortunate to qualify for the Euro 1992 finals.
Denmark finished their qualifying campaign in second place in the group, but thanks to Yugoslavia’s exclusion from the competition, the team booked their place at the Euro 1992 finals. Denmark impressed at the tournament in Sweden, with the team outplaying Germany in the title game (2-0).
Brothers Michael and Bryan Laudrup and goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel are regarded as Denmark’s most notable players. It has to be noted that Morten Olsen was in charge of the Danish national team from 2000 to 2015. The Danes play their home games at Telia Parken and the capacity of the venue is 38,065 (all-seater).
