Our prediction for this Championship match:
Hull City will look to put an end to their three-game losing run when they take on Coventry City at their MKM Stadium. The Tigers are having a season to forget, and it is no wonder the odds for away win have been dropping. Since influential midfielder Tom Huddlestone remains on the sidelines through injury, we are not tempted to put our money on the hosts.
The Sky Blues, on the other hand, aim to stay in the playoffs berth. Coventry are enjoying a very successful season, and they should take advantage of Hull City’s shaky defence. Mark Robins should have a full squad to choose from, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the away side. Keep in mind, though, that the Sky Blues have recorded only one win on the road this season.
Highlighted Player (Callum Elder):
Callum Elder is an Australia international who plays for Hull City in the League One. Elder started his youth career at Manly United, but in 2011 he was spotted by Leicester City scouts. Despite being a Leicester City player from 2013 to 2019, he did not see any game action with the Foxes in the Premier League.
Callum Elder played for the likes of Mansfield Town, Peterborough United, Brentford, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic, and Ipswich Town before signing a three-year contract with the Tigers for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of his international career, the pacey left-back has one cap with the Australia U20 team.
Elder’s favourite position is left-back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a centre-back as well. Elder wears the No. 3 jersey at Hull City, and he is an athletic full-back who likes getting up and down the left-hand side. The Australian player was born on January 27, 1995.
Highlighted Team (Coventry):
Nicknamed the Sky Blues, Coventry City are an English football club that compete in the League One. Coventry City, who were founded on August 13, 1883 as Singers FC, wear sky blue kit when playing on home soil, whilst their away colour is white.
Aston Villa and Leicester City are considered the club’s main rivals, but they have rivalry with fellow West Midlands clubs Wallsall and Burton Albion as well. Coventry City have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the FA Cup in the 1986/1987 season, with the team beat Charlton Athletic in the two-legged final. They share stadium with Birmingham City, with both clubs playing their home games at St. Andrew’s Stadium.
Built in December, 1906, St. Andrew’s Stadium can hold up to 29,409 spectators. Dion Dublin is one of the most famous Coventry City players, with the legendary centre-forward scoring 61 goals in 145 appearances for the club in the league.
