Buoyed by a thrilling 4-1 win over NEC Nijmegen, Vitesse will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they host Excelsior to their GelreDome on Matchday 30. The Vitas are eyeing their third consecutive league win, and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. Barring any fresh injury worries, Phillip Cocu is unlikely to make changes to the team that outclassed Nijmegen at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Marinus Dijkhuizen’s charges aim to build on a 2-1 win over Go Ahead Eagles. Anyhow, we are tempted to put our money on the home side this time out as Excelsior have been struggling on the travels this term. Nicknamed Vitas, the proud of Gelderland, Vitesse are a Dutch football club based in Arnhem. Vitesse compete in the Dutch Eredivisie and they have yet to win the national championship. However, they finished as runners-up in the Dutch elite division on five occasions (1897–98, 1902–03, 1912–13, 1913–14, 1914–15), while clinching third place in the standings in the 1997/1998 season.
