Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Cagliari and Sassuolo square off against each other at Unipol Domus in what is expected to be an interesting Serie A game. The Rossoblu aim to make amends for a 1-0 loss to Lazio and their fine displays at home ground are surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Sassuolo. Antoine Makoumbou is banned for the match, while fellow midfielders Alessandro Di Pardo and Marko Rog are out of contention with injuries.
The Neroverdi, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 loss to Roma in their last league match, but it has to be noted that midfielder Daniel Boloca was sent off after 62 minutes. As a result, the Romania international is out of contention through suspension, while both Mattia Viti and Agustin Alvarez are sidelined with injuries. Anyhow, both teams to score betting option should be considered as Sassuolo are likely to stick to their attacking style of play.
Highlighted Player (Domenico Berardi):
Once one of the most promising young players in Serie A, Domenico Berardi is the Italian footballer that plays for Sassuolo and the Italy national team. Born in Cairati, Calabria, the forward begun his professional career back in 2012, when he helped the Neroverdi win Serie B and play in Serie A next season and was named as the best player of the competition, only 18 years of age.
He made his first appearance for the Italy U19 national team in the same season. His excellent performances draw the attention of Juventus and the Old Lady confirmed in the beginning of the Season 2013/14 that Domenico Berardi joined the club on a co-ownership deal.
The player never played for Juventus because he remained in Sassuolo and he recently signed a new contract with the Neroverdi. The 24-year-old right winger, who can also play as a left winger and a second striker, made his first appearance in the senior national team in June 2018.
Highlighted Team (Cagliari):
Cagliari are a professional football club based in Cagliari, Sardinia. I Rossoblu (The Red and Blues) compete in Italian Serie A and the club’s biggest success came in 1970, when they won the national championship.
Cagliari finished the season in top position in the standings, four points clear of Juventus and it has to be noted that Luigi Riva led Cagliari to their first Serie A trophy.
I Rossoblu welcome their rivals at Stadio Sant’Elia and the capacity of the stadium is 16,000. In the 1993/1994 season Cagliari made it to the UEFA Cup semis, with the team suffering a loss to fellow Italian club Inter in the two-legged tie.
Giuseppe Pancaro helped Cagliari record a 3-2 win over Inter in the first leg, but I Rossoblu were hammered by the Nerazzurri in the second leg (3-0). Palermo are regarded as Cagliari’s main rivals and the two teams square off against each other in the Derby delle Isole.
