Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Peterborough and Mansfield take on each other at Weston Homes Stadium in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Thursday’s program. The Posh aim to recover from a 2-1 loss to Stockport County and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Yellows. Talented defender George Nevett is in line for a recall to the starting XI after coming as a substitute in the last league match.
The Yellows, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Rotherham United. Mansfield, though, have been struggling on the travels of late, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on draw. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team. Nigel Clough is likely to stick to the 3-5-2 formation that functioned well in the triumph over the Millers.
Highlighted Team (Peterborough):
Founded in 1934, Peterborough United are a professional club that competes in the League One. The Posh play their home games at London Road Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 15,314. Peterborough’s home colour is blue, whilst the colour of their away kit is blue. The Posh have the third kit as well where yellow and black are the dominant colours.
Peterborough United’s biggest success came in the 1964/1965 when the club booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Chelsea, though, proved to be a big catch for the Posh, beating them 5-1 in London. It has to be noted that Peterborough United made it to the Football League Cup semis in the 1965/1966 season, with the team losing to WBA in the two-legged tie.
The likes of Cambridge United and Northampton Town are considered the club’s main rivals. The Posh have built a rivalry with Huddersfield Town, with fans seeing MK Dons as rivals as well.
