Our prediction for this Gold Cup match:
United States of America will be aiming to clinch their spot in the 2025 Gold Cup final when they take on Guatemala at CITYPARK. The Yanks defeated Costa Rica on penalties in the quarter-finals, but they are seen as hot favourites to beat Guatemala in Thursday’s clash. Bearing any fresh injury worries, Mauricio Pochettino is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated los Ticos.
La Azul y Blanco, on the other hand, did well to shock Canada in the Gold Cup quarter-finals, but they will have a big fish to fry against the tournament hosts. In their last meeting in a competitive match, USA rolled over Guatemala 4-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Charleston forward Rubio Rubin, who has found his goal-scoring touch of late.
