Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Burton will look to recover from the FA Cup defeat to Grimsby Town when they take on Shrewsbury Town in the League One round 27. The Brewers suffered a heavy 5-0 loss to Morecambe in their last league match, and, as a result, they sit in the relegation zone ahead of the visit of Shrewsbury. Both Carayol and Winnall are pushing for a start, but there are no fresh injury worries in the home side.
Meanwhile, the Shrews made a slow start to 2023, with the team losing to Fleetwood in the League One, while suffering elimination in the FA Cup. Given their four-match losing run in all competitions, we do not believe that Burton will have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Carl Winchester is back to contention after he was ineligible to face the Black Cats. Matthew Pennington returns from suspension.
