Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Mansfield Town will be aiming to put an end to their six-game winless run in the League Two when they host Port Vale at their One Call Stadium on Matchday 23. Mansfield Town have been showing signs of improvement of late as they shared the spoils with the likes of Crewe Alexandra and Northampton Town in the previous two league fixtures, and they are surely capable of matching the Valiants in the Boxing Day showdown.
Port Vale aim to move a little closer to the playoffs berth, but they should be happy with one point from Thursday’s clash. The Valiants played out a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham Town at the weekend, and you should bear in mind that there have been under 2.5 goals in each of their last three league fixtures. In their last meeting in the League, Two Mansfield Town and Port Vale shared the spoils.
Highlighted Player (Bobby Olejnik):

Born in Vienna, Austria on November 26, 1986, Bobby Olejnik is a goalkeeper who plays for League Two side Mansfield Town. Olejnik started his youth career at Austria Wien, but in 2003 he moved to Aston Villa. Despite signing a professional contract with the Villans, he did not see any game action for the Villans at senior level.
The 188-cm tall shot-stopper played for the likes of Lincoln City (loan), Falkirk, Torquay United, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe United (loan), York City (loan), and Exeter City before joining Mansfield Town. Bobby Olejnik made his League Two debut with the Yellows on December 30, 2017, in a 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers.
Olejnik has 13 caps with the Austria U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. Olejnik’s preferred foot is right, and he wears the number 12 jersey at Mansfield Town.
Highlighted Team (Port Vale):

Nicknamed the Valiants, Port Vale are a professional club that compete in the League Two. Port Vale welcome their rivals at Vale Park, and they wear white and black kit when playing in front of home fans. Yellow, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of their away kit.
The Valiants’ home ground, which was built in 1950, can hold up to 49,768 people. Championship side Stoke City are seen as one of the club’s fiercest rivals, but their rivalry is pretty healthy. The two teams first met on December 2, 1882, with the Potters emerging triumphant (1-0).
The Valiants maintain a rivalry with fellow League 2 club Crewe Alexandra as well. Speaking of the club’s titles, it has to be noted that Port Vale have won Football League Trophy on two occasions (1993, 2001). A 9-1 win over Chesterfield from September 24, 1932 is the club’s biggest triumph.
