Our prediction for this World Cup 2022 match:
Philippines will look to build on a routine 3-0 win over Guam when they take on Maldives in their last group game. Philippines missed out on a place in the next qualifying round, but they surely want to give fans yet another reason for celebration. Midfielder Luke Woodland, who suffered an injury in the 3-0 victory over Guam, is unlikely to feature against Maldives. The visitors, on the other hand, suffered an expected 5-0 loss to China in their last qualifying match.
Considering that Maldives have been struggling at the back of late, we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Philippines’ party at Sharjah Stadium. When the two teams met at Maldives earlier in the process Philippines emerged triumphant, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. Angel Guirado is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
