Australia and Chinese Taipei face each other in a David-vs-Goliath clash at Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium. Australia recorded a routine 3-0 win over Kuwait on Thursday, and even though both Mooy and Rogic have been omitted, the Socceroos are seen as favourites to win Monday’s qualifier. Experienced attacker Mathew Leckie, who found the net in the 3-0 win over Kuwait, is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts.
Chinese Taipei, on the other hand, continue to serve as a cannon fodder for their rivals in Group B, with the team already conceding 27 goals in the process. As previously mentioned, David faces Goliath in Kuwait, and anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. When the two teams met in Kaohsiung earlier in the process Australia rolled over Chinese Taipei 7-1.

Despite being born in Singapore on November 17, 1993, Ryan Edwards is eligible to represent Australia in international matches. The 175-cm-tall midfielder has 18 caps with Australia U-23 and it has to be noted that he played for the Socceroos at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Speaking of his club career, Edwards is a product of AIS, the high performance sports training institution from Australia, but in 2011 he was spotted by Reading scouts.
Ryan Edwards played for the Royals at senior level, making seven appearances for the club in the league. The Australian international whore Perth Glory (loan), St. Mirren (loan), Partick Thistle and Heart of Midlothian shirts as well before signing a deal with Burton Albion in 2019.
He made his debut with the Brewers in the League One on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 loss to Ipswich Town. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of producing fine performances at both central and right midfield as well.
