Iceland will be looking to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina when they take on Luxembourg on Friday evening. The Icelanders are seven points behind automatic qualification places, meaning that this has to go down as a must-win game for the home side. Experienced forward Alfred Finnbogason is pushing for a start after scoring the winner as a substitute against the Balkan Dragons.
Luxembourg, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a heavy 9-0 loss to Portugal, which is yet another reason why we are going to bet on the home side. Both Sebastien Thill and Lars Gerson are pushing for recalls to the starting XI after the duo came off the bench in the last group game. In their last meeting in Reykjavik Iceland defeated Luxembourg 1-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.
