Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Morocco will look to put icing on the cake on a very successful World Cup qualifying campaign when they take on Sudan at Stade du FUS in Rabat. Since the game will be played in Morocco, the Atlas Lions are seen as hot favourites to keep their 100% record in Group I intact, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Chelsea ace Hakim Ziyech has been omitted once again, while Sevilla attacker Youssef En-Nesyri has overcome his injury.
The likes of Achraf Hakimi, Soufiane Amrabat, and Munir Haddadi made the cut as well. Sudan, on the other hand, have little to play for in Friday’s qualifier, and even though Vahid Halilhodzic could opt to make changes to the starting XI, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on Morocco.
Highlighted Player (Mo Eisa):
Born on the 12th of July, 1994, in Khartoum, Sudan, Mo Eisa is a Sudanese professional footballer who plays for Peterborough United in the third tier of English Football. The 6ft tall striker/ winger is a Pro Touch Soccer Academy product.
The initial years of his career were spent playing non-league football with teams like Dartford, Leatherhead, and Greenwich Borough, the latter for whom he scored over 50 goals in 100 appearances. On the 7th of July, 2017, Eisa signed a contract with League Two outfit Cheltenham Town and made his league debut on the 5th of August, 2017.
A prolific season with the Robins earned him the Supporters' Player Of The Year and the Players' Player Of The Year awards at the end of the season. For the 18/19 season, the 25-year-old joined Championship side Bristol for a brief stint before returning to League One with Peterborough for the following season on a four-year contract.
Highlighted Team (Morocco):
Morocco, the Atlas Lions, are the first African team to win a group at the World Cup finals. Back in 1986 the team managed to finish the group stages above Portugal, Poland and England, but West Germany proved to be a big catch for the Moroccan national team in the last 16 of the tournament.
The Atlas Lions participated at the World Cup finals on four occasions, but winning of the 1976 African Cup of Nations is considered the team’s biggest success. Morocco were producing outstanding displays at the tournament in Ethiopia and it has to be noted that they defeated Guinea in the title game.
Morocco play their home games at Stade Adrar and Stade de Marrakech and they wear red shirts and green shorts when playing in front of home fans. A number of top-class footballers played for Morocco in the past, but Mustafa Hadji is certainly the biggest star who played for the Moroccan national team.
