St Etienne quickly bounced back from the 5-0 loss to Lyon, with the team beating Nice on the road thanks to Charles Abi’s late goal. The talented forward is pushing for a start, while Bajic, Gabriel, and Souici remain quarantined. The likes of Boudebouz, Khazri, Retsos, Sissoko, and Macon are all likely to miss the midweek fixture with injuries. Despite the long injury list, les Verts are seen as favourites to beat Nantes at home ground.
Les Canaris, on the other hand, suffered yet another dip in form, with the team losing to both Metz and Monaco in the previous two league fixtures. Since Nantes are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts, who proved their worth in the triumph over les Aiglons at the weekend. Speaking of his club career, Boudebouz played for Colmar and Sochaux at youth level and he continued playing for Sochaux first team. After scoring 24 goals in 164 appearances in the league for the club, he moved to Bastia in 2013 and he played 66 games for les Bleus.
Ryad Boudebouz played for the Corsican side from 2013 to 2015 and he signed a four-year deal with Montpellier and you should know that he netted 11 goals in 33 appearances for la Paillade in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. His main position is attacking midfield, but he is capable of playing at both left and right winger as well.
