Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Whaddon Road will host Saturday’s football match between Cheltenham Town and Port Vale, the two teams with entirely different ambitions in the season finale. Cheltenham have been in a splendid form of late, with the team winning each of their previous three league fixtures, and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Port Vale. The Valiants, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest, with the team failing to win the previous five league fixtures.
Since the Robins are eager to retain top position in the standings, we predict that the out-of-sorts visitors are going to return home empty-handed. Both Montano and Gibbons were forced to leave the pitch before the half-time break in the 1-0 loss to Salford City, and the duo is unlikely to feature against Cheltenham Town. As for the home team, the likes of Bonds, Sercombe, and Boyle are likely to miss the game.
Highlighted Player (Chris Hussey):
Born in Hammersmith, England, Christopher Hussey is an experienced defender who plays for Cheltenham Town in the League Two. After spending his youth career at the likes of Woking and AFC Wimbledon, Hussey continued playing for the Dons at senior level.
He played for a number of English clubs in the past, but, no doubt, the most notable one is Sheffield United. Chris Hussey made seven appearances for the Blades in the League One, but nowadays he is a League Two player. His main position is left-back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a left midfielder as well.
It has to be noted that he was called up for the England C team as a standby. Christopher Hussey made his Cheltenham Town debut on August 21, 2018 in a 1-1 draw with Macclesfield Town. He scored his first goal with the Robins in a 4-2 loss to Mansfield Town.
Highlighted Team (Port Vale):
Nicknamed the Valiants, Port Vale are a professional club that compete in the League Two. Port Vale welcome their rivals at Vale Park, and they wear white and black kit when playing in front of home fans. Yellow, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of their away kit.
The Valiants’ home ground, which was built in 1950, can hold up to 49,768 people. Championship side Stoke City are seen as one of the club’s fiercest rivals, but their rivalry is pretty healthy. The two teams first met on December 2, 1882, with the Potters emerging triumphant (1-0).
The Valiants maintain a rivalry with fellow League 2 club Crewe Alexandra as well. Speaking of the club’s titles, it has to be noted that Port Vale have won Football League Trophy on two occasions (1993, 2001). A 9-1 win over Chesterfield from September 24, 1932 is the club’s biggest triumph.
