Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Home Park will host Saturday’s football game between Plymouth Argyle and Bristol Rovers. Plymouth do not seem to be at their sharpest at the moment, with the team suffering a loss in each of their previous five league fixtures. The Pilgrims are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Bristol Rovers, and we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the home team.
The Pirates are on a four-game losing run on the road, but given Plymouth’s current form, we predict that the visitors are going to grab something from the match. It has to be noted that Bristol Rovers first-choice goalkeeper Joe Day is banned for the match following his sending off in the 3-2 loss at Charlton. In the first half of the season Bristol Rovers outplayed Plymouth 3-0, but share of spoils is on the cards this time out.
Highlighted Player (Scott Wootton):
After spending his youth career at English giants Liverpool and Manchester United, Scott Wootton played for the likes of Tranmere Rovers, Peterborough United, and Nottingham Forest on loan at senior level. In the summer of 2013, the defender signed a three-year deal with Leeds United.
Scott Wootton made 66 appearances for the Whites in the league before moving to Rotherham United on loan. In August 2016, the English footballer joined League 1 club Milton Keynes Dons, signing a two-year deal with the Stadium MK outfit. Nowadays, Scott Wootton plays for Plymouth Argyle in the League Two, where he wears the number 5 jersey.
Scott Wootton’s primary position is a centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances at right-back as well. The 188-cm tall defender, whose preferred foot is right, has three caps for the England U17 team. Scott Wootton was born in Birkenhead, England, on September 12, 1991.
Highlighted Team (Bristol Rovers):
Established back on August 1, 1883, Bristol Rovers are one of the oldest clubs in the League One. Bristol Rovers were formed after a meeting at the Eastville Restaurant under the name of Black Arabs after the Arabs rugby team.
This name, though, lasted no more than one season as the club was renamed Eastville Rovers in 1884. Five years later the club’s name was officially changes to Bristol Rovers. Nicknamed the Pirates, Bristol Rovers welcome their opponents at Memorial Stadium Horfield, the venue with the capacity of 12,296. Bristol Rovers are well known for their blue and white home kit, but they are dressed in yellow when playing on the travels.
Ricky Lambert, who used to play for the likes of Southampton and Liverpool in the Premier League, is regarded as one of the club’s most notable footballers. It has to be noted that Lambert scored 51 goals in 128 appearances for the Pirates in the league.
