Vancouver Whitecaps
There will be fireworks when Toronto and Vancouver face each other in the Canadian derby at BMO Field. The Reds did well to eliminate Mexico champions Leon in the CONCACAF Champions League qualifiers, but they failed to impress in a 4-2 loss to Club de Foot Montreal in their MLS opener. Toronto are eager to record their first win of the season, but given the number of absentees in the home team, we are not tempted to put our money on the Reds.
Important attacker Jozy Altidore is rated doubtful for the match, while Achara, Dunn, Mavinga, Pozuelo, and Gallardo remain in the recovery room. Vancouver, on the other hand, defeated Portland Timbers thanks to Lucas Cavallini’s goal, and we predict that they will take advantage of Toronto’s injury concerns. In their last meeting in the Major League Soccer Vancouver defeated Toronto 3-2.
Highlighted Player (Laurent Ciman):
Laurent Ciman is a Belgium international who plays for Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer. The defender who was born in Farciennes on August 5, 1985 played for Charleroi from 2004 to 2008 and he made no less than 85 league appearances for the Belgian outfit.
During the 2007/2008 season he was on Club Brugge’s radar and in the summer of 2008 he joined the Blauw-Zwart. After ending his loan spell with Kortijk Laurent Ciman joined fellow Belgian club Standard Liege and he spent five seasons at Stade Maurice Dufrasne. On January 22, 2015 the defender signed a three-year contract with MLS club Montreal Impact and he has been playing for the Canadian outfit ever since.
Ciman represented Belgium at the 2008 Olympics and he did remarkably well to make Belgium 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. However, he was unused at the showpiece tournament in Brazil. The Montreal Impact footballer scored his first ever goal for Belgium in June, 2016 in a 3-2 victory over Norway.

Vancouver Whitecaps are yet another Canadian side that compete in Major League Soccer. Vancouver began play in the USA top flight in 2011 and one year later they became the first Canadian outfit to book their place in the MLS Cup play-offs. However, star-studded Los Angeles Galaxy proved to be a big catch for the Whitecaps in the knockout round. Vancouver, though, did remarkably well to win the Canadian Championship in 2015, with the team beating Montreal Impact in the title game.
In 2016 they made it to the final of the tournament as well, but Toronto FC eventually won the trophy. The Whitecaps are owned by Greg Kerfoot, Steve Luczo, Jeff Mallett and Steve Steve Nash, the former NBA star, and they play their home matches at BC Place. Speaking of MLS games, the capacity of the venue is 22.120 and you should know that the stadium was opened back in 1983. The Caps wear white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, while the colour of their away kit is blue.
