Estadio de Sao Miguel will host Saturday’s football game between Santa Clara and Boavista, who were beaten by Benfica and Maritimo respectively at the weekend. Os Acoreanos are on a three-game winless run in the Primeira Liga, and, as a result, they have slim chances of booking their place in the Europa League. Since Santa Clara have little to play for in the season finale, we do not believe that home win should be considered.
Boavista, on the other hand, head into the match following back-to-back defeats to Braga and Maritimo. The Black and Whites are desperate to escape the relegation zone, and they should take advantage of Santa Clara’s current form. Cardoso returns from suspension for the hosts, while Romao is likely to miss the match with injury. As for the visitors, Ecuador defender Jackson Gabriel Porozo is back after serving his ban in the defeat to Maritimo.

Fabio Cardoso is a Portuguese defender who was born in Agueda (Portugal) on April 19, 1994. Cardoso started his youth career at his hometown club Agueda, but in 2008 he continued his development at Benfica. After scoring three goals in 55 appearances for Benfica B, he spent the 2015/2016 season on loan at Pacos Ferreira.
In the summer of 2017, he signed a four-year deal with Vitoria Setubal, but he spent only one season at Estadio do Bonfim. Cardoso joined Scottish club Glasgow Rangers in June 2017, signing a three-year contract with the club for a fee of around £1.3 million.
The Portuguese defender, though, made no more than 12 appearances for the Gers, joining Santa Clara in the summer of 2018. Fabio Cardoso has four caps with the Portugal U20 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. His primary position is a centre-back, but he is often used as a left-back. His preferred foot is right.

Founded on August 1, 1903, Boavista are a Portuguese club that welcome their rivals at Estadio do Bessa. The capacity of the venue is 28,263 and it was built back in 1911. As Panteras (The Panthers) are well known for their black and white shirts and white is the dominant colour of their away kit.
Famous Fellow city club Porto are considered Boavista’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in O Derby da Invicta and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two local rivals. A Panteras did well to win their first and only Primeira Liga trophy in the 2000/2001 season, with the team finishing the campaign only one point clear of Porto.
Boavista have five Taca de Portugal trophies (1974/75, 1975/76, 1978/79, 1991/92, 1996/97), with the team winning Supertaca de Portugal three times (1979, 1992, 1997). Jose Bosingwa, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Nuno Gomes are the notable footballers who played for Boavista in the past, to name just a few.
