Our prediction for this MLS match:
Austin and Houston Dynamo square off against each other at Q2 Stadium in what is expected to be a very exciting game. Austin do not seem to be competitive at this level, with the team sitting in the ultimate position in the standings. Since the newcomers suffered yet another dip in form, home win should not be considered. All Hoesen, Schoenfeld, Segura, and Sweat are out of contention through injuries, while Pereira is a major doubt and he will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
Houston Dynamo, on the other hand, will be without suspended attacker Fafa Picault is Thursday’s game. The Dynamo have drawn the previous three league fixtures, and, taking everything into account, the share of spoils is on the horizon at Q2 Stadium. It has to be noted that the two clubs have never met before in the Major League Soccer.
Highlighted Player (Mauro Manotas):
Born in Sabanalarga, Colombia on July 15, 1995, Mauro Manotas is a 178-cm tall attacker who plays for Houston Dynamo in MLS. Manotas is a product of the Uniautonoma football school, and he made 25 appearances for the club at senior level.
He made his Uniautonoma debut in a 3-2 win over Valledupar FC on May 29, 2013. Manotas scored his first goal for the club on August 13, 2014 in a Copa Colombia loss to Valledupar. In 2015 he decided to take a step forward in his career, with the Colombia international joining the Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo.
Mauro Manotas made his MLS debut in a 2-0 loss to Dallas on June 27, 2015, while scoring his first goal in the league in a 2-2 draw with Minnesota United on April 16, 2017. Manotas has yet to receive a call-up for the Colombia national football team, but he has three caps with the U20 team. He scored his first international goal in a 2-1 loss to Brazil on January 23, 2015.
Highlighted Team (Houston Dynamo):
Houston Dynamo is an American professional soccer club owned by Jake Silverstein, Gabriel Brener, Ben Guull and Oscar De La Hoya, who is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time.
BBVA Compass Stadium is Dynamo’s home ground and the capacity of the venue is 22.039. Houston Dynamo won back-to-back MLS Cup trophies (2006, 2007), with the team beating New England Revolution in each of the two title games. It has to be noted that Houston finished the 2011 and the 2012 seasons as runners-up.
In 2008 the Dynamo made it to the North American SuperLiga final, but this time out their old rivals New England Revolution proved to be a big catch for the BBVA Compass Stadium outfit. FC Dallas are regarded as the club’s main rivals and the two teams face each other in the Texas derby. Houston have developed a rivalry with Sporting Kansas City as well. The colors of the club are orange, black and white.
