Reims
Nice play host to Reims at their Allianz Riviera in the opening game of the new Ligue 1 campaign. Les Aiglons finished the last season in 9th position in the standings, and, no doubt, they are eyeing yet another top-ten finish. Kasper Dolberg, who impressed at the 2020 EURO finals, will be the man to watch in the home team, while new signings Rosario, Stengs, Lemina, and Kluivert are all pushing for a start.
Since the club chiefs did well to reinforce the squad in the summer transfer window, home win should definitely be considered. Reims, on the other hand, were struggling at the back in pre-season, and seeing that they head into the season opener following back-to-back defeats to Lens (1-2) and Hoffenheim (1-3) we are tempted to put our money on the home team. It has to be noted that Nice are undefeated in the previous five meetings with Reims in the French top flight.

Dante is a left-footed defender who was born in Salvador, Brazil on 18 October, 1983. The 189-cm-tall centre back, who is capable of playing as a left back as well, started his senior career at Juventude. After making 53 appearances for the club between 2002 and 2004 he moved to Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
He played for Belgian sides Charleroi and Standard from 2006 to 2009 and on 27 December, 2008 he signed a contract with Borussia M’gladbach for an undisclosed fee. After impressing with the Fohlen in the 2011/2012 Bundesliga campaign he moved to Bayern Munich at the end of the season and it has to be noted that he scored three goals in 83 league appearances for FCB.
In 2015 he signed a contract with fellow Bundesliga team Wolfsburg and he played 24 league games for the Wolves in the 2015/2016 season. In 2013 he won the Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich and he lifted the FIFA Confederations Cup with Brazil the same year.

Reims are a French football club founded in 1931. Reims welcome their rivals at Stade Auguste Delaune, which can hold up to 21,684 people. Believe it or not, Reims won six Ligue 1 titles (1948/1949, 1952/1953, 1954/1955, 1957/1958, 1959/1960, 1961/1962). To make things even better for the fans, Reims participated in the European Cup final on two occasions.
In 1956 they faced Real Madrid in the title game and despite taking the lead after six minutes, the French side eventually suffered a 4-3 loss to los Blancos at Parc des Princes.
