Our prediction for this Championship match:
Buoyed by a thrilling 4-1 win over Preston, Hull City will be looking to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Queens Park Rangers at KCOM Stadium. The Tigers could not have wished for a better start to the season, but they can’t afford any complacency in Saturday’s football match.
Midfielder Richard Smallwood, who impressed in the season opener, will be one of the men to watch in the home team, while Josh Magennis should continue to lead the line for the hosts after scoring in third consecutive game. The Hoops, on the other hand, kicked off the new Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Millwall. Considering that all Amos, Field, and Kane are out of contention for the capital club, we are tempted to put our money on the Tigers, who impressed in the crushing of Preston.
Highlighted Player (Callum Elder):
Callum Elder is an Australia international who plays for Hull City in the League One. Elder started his youth career at Manly United, but in 2011 he was spotted by Leicester City scouts. Despite being a Leicester City player from 2013 to 2019, he did not see any game action with the Foxes in the Premier League.
Callum Elder played for the likes of Mansfield Town, Peterborough United, Brentford, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic, and Ipswich Town before signing a three-year contract with the Tigers for an undisclosed fee. Speaking of his international career, the pacey left-back has one cap with the Australia U20 team.
Elder’s favourite position is left-back, but he is capable of producing fine displays as a centre-back as well. Elder wears the No. 3 jersey at Hull City, and he is an athletic full-back who likes getting up and down the left-hand side. The Australian player was born on January 27, 1995.
Highlighted Team (QPR):
Queens Park Rangers are well known as QPR. The capital club was founded in 1886 and Loftus Road Stadium is QPR’s ground. Loftus Road Stadium was opened in 1904 and the capacity of the venue 18,439. However, it has to be noted that no less than 35,353 spectators watched the game between QPR and Leeds on 27 April, 1974.
The Hoops finished the 1975/1976 First Division campaign in second position in the standings, just behind champions Liverpool. This is considered the club’s biggest success, but Queens Park Rangers made it to the FA Cup final in 1982 as well.
QPR were beaten by fellow capital club Tottenham Hotspur in the title game, but they did well to lift the League Cup trophy in 1967. Queens Park’s main rivals are Brentford, Chelsea and Fulham, but other clubs based in London are considered QPR’s rivals as well. The colour of QPR’s shirts is blue and white.
