Our prediction for this Championship match:
Derby County will be aiming to move away from the rock bottom when they host Reading to their Pride Park in the Championship round 10. The Rams have been deducted 12 points due to financial problems, and, as a result, they are nine points behind the safe zone ahead of Matchday 10. Derby County are low on confidence ahead of the visit of Reading as they suffered a heart-breaking loss at Sheffield United, with the Blades scoring a later winner from the penalty spot.
Wayne Rooney can’t count on suspended goalkeeper Kelle Roos for the midweek game, while all Ebosele, Kazim-Richards, McDonald, and Bielik are sidelined with injuries. The Royals, on the other hand, look unstoppable at the moment, with the team eyeing their fourth consecutive league win. Given the current atmosphere in Derby County’s dressing room, away win should definitely be considered. The likes of Araruna, Azeez, Joao, McIntyre, and Meite are injure for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Craig Forsyth):
Craig Forsyth is a left back who is capable of playing as a midfielder as well. The Derby County footballer was born on 24 February, 1989 and he started his youth career at Carlogie Boys Club. Forsyth spent five years in Dundee (2006-2011), but it has to be noted that he played for Montrose and Arbroath (on loan) during his spell at Dens Park.
The Scottish footballer joined Watford in June, 2011 for an undisclosed fee and he did well to score on his debut against Burnley in the opening match of the 2011/2012 Championship campaign. He played 20 games for the Hornets in the 2011/2012 season, but on 19 October, 2012, he was sent on loan to Bradford City.
After ending his loan spell with Bradford, Forsyth signed a loan deal with Derby County on 4 March, 2013 and nine months later he penned a permanent teal with the Rams. The left back made 46 league appearances for Derby County in the 2013/2014 campaign, scoring two goals in the process.
Highlighted Team (Reading):
Reading FC is a professional football club that play in the Championship. The club was formed in 1871 and Madejski Stadium has been the home of Reading since 1998. The Royals used to play their home games at Elm Park in the past (1896 - 1998). Reading made it to the FA Cup semi-finals on two occasions (1927, 2015), but they have yet to win the prestigious trophy.
The likes of Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Steve Death, Shaka Hislop, Phil Parkinson, Alf Messer, Jimmy Quinn, Michael Gilkes, Ronnie Blackman, Pavel Pogrebnyak and Martin Hicks are some of their more notable footballers. Aldershot Town were considered Reading’s fiercest rivals, but the Shots went out of business in 1992.
Seeing that Aldershot rejoined the league in 2008 it remains to be seen if the rivalry is going to be re-established in near future. Swindon Town and Oxford United are considered Reading’s big rivals as well.
