Lorient
Strasbourg play host to Lorient at their Stade de la Meinau on day 12 of the new Ligue 1 campaign. Le Racing outclassed St Etienne 5-1 in their last home fixture, but they head into Saturday’s clash following a 1-0 loss at Rennes. Strasbourg aim to get back on course as soon as possible, and they are likely to leave their hearts on the field. Maxime Le Marchand serves a one-game ban, while Karol Fila, Moise Sahi Dion, and Lebo Mothiba all remain in the treatment room.
Les Merlus, on the other hand, failed to win the previous four league fixtures. Lorient are not regarded as good travelers, and given Strasbourg’s display in the crushing of St Etienne, home win should be considered. Both Armand Lauriente and Jeremy Morel are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the away team.

A midfielder with a keen eye for a precise pass, Adrian Thomasson is a French international who plays for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg. Thomasson is a versatile asset who can be equally deployed in a number of different positions up front, including a holding position at the centre of the park.
He began his professional career at Evian in 2012 and spent three years with Les Roses before moving to Nantes in 2015. One league match shy from entering the 100-game club, Adrien Thomasson scored nine goals for the Canaries before joining Strasbourg in the summer of 2018.
As a player who likes to hold on to the ball and build play from behind, Thomasson boasts impressive passing ability. Albeit an attacking midfielder who can play on both wings and in advanced midfield position, this French footballer also makes quite a contribution in defense.

Founded back in 1926, Lorient is a French football club that competes in Ligue 1. Les Merlus have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the Coupe de France in the 2001/02 season. In the title game, Lorient defeated Bastia thanks to Jean-Claude Darcheville’s goal.
The same season les Merlus made it to the Coupe de la Ligue final, but Bordeaux proved to be a big catch (0-3) for them in the title game. Lorient welcome their rivals at Stade du Moustoir, the stadium which can hold up to 16,392 spectators. The colour of the team’s home shirt is orange with a little black on it, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2002/03 season Lorient represented France in European competitions.
Les Merlus, though, failed to impress on their debut in the UEFA Cup as they were beaten by Denizlispor in the round 1 double-header.
