Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Zwolle and Heracles go head to head at MAC³PARK Stadion in the Eredivisie round 10. Despite producing a fine display at Philips Stadion at the weekend, Zwolle were eventually beaten by PSV in Eindhoven. Art Langeler’s troops are stuck at the bottom of the table, with the team collecting only one point from possible 27. Both Pelle Clement and Sai van Wermeskerken are major doubts, and the duo will be assessed ahead of the kick-off.
The Black and Whites, on the other hand, aim to climb to the top half of the table. Heracles produce much better showings at home than on the travels, and seeing that the hosts want this win more than the visitors, we are tempted to put our money on the home team. Noah Fadiga is banned for the match, while both Adrian Szoke and Lunding Jakobsen are rated doubtful.
Highlighted Player (Thomas Lam):
Thomas Lam is a footballer who can play as both centre back and defensive midfielder. Lam was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on 18 December, 1993, but seeing that his mother is Finnish, he was eligible to play for the Finland national team.
After making 11 appearances for the Finland U21 team, he made his debut for the senior team on 9 June, 2015, in a friendly against Estonia. He started the game, but the Finns suffered a 2-0 loss to the Estonians in Turku. Speaking of his club career, Thomas Lam played for AZ Alkmaar between 2011 and 2014 and then he joined fellow Eredivisie side Zwolle.
The 188-cm-tall footballer scored four goals in 64 appearances for the club and in July 2016 he signed a contract with Nottingham Forest. Lam won the KVNB Cup with AZ Alkmaar in 2013 and he was named Promising Player of the Year in 2011. His agent is world-famous Mino Raiola and his contract with Forest expires on 30 June, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Heracles):
Heracles is a professional Dutch club based in Almelo. The club was formed back in May 1903 and named after Heracles, the demigod son of Zeus. From 1974 to 1998 the club played under the name of SC Heracles ’74. The Heraclieden’s home colours are black and white, while blue is the dominant colour of their away shirt.
Twente are considered one of the club’s main rivals in the Netherlands. Speaking of the club’s achievements, it has to be noted that Heracles have won two Eredivisie trophies (1926/27, 1940/41). In the 2011/12 season they made it to the Dutch Cup final. Heracles faced PSV in the title game, with the Dutch giants proving to be a big catch for the underdogs.
PSV won the game 3-0. In the 2016/17 season Heracles participated in the Europa League, with the team suffering elimination to Arouca in the third qualifying round. Everton is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 77 goals.
