Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
Angers and St. Etienne face each other at Stade Raymond-Kopa in a postponed Ligue 1 fixture. Angers did well to beat Troyes 2-1 at the weekend, with the team retaining 12th place in the standings. Les Scoistes aim to move closer to the Europa League berth, but keep in mind that they head into the match with a severely-weakened squad. All Ebosse, Ounahi, Boufal, and Bahoken are on international duty, while Thomas, Cho, and Ould Khaled have been struggling with injuries of late.
Les Verts, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom of the table, with the team collecting only 12 points in total. St. Etienne are low on spirits ahead of the midweek clash, and seeing that they are hit by injuries and other absences as well, home win should be considered. All Bouanga, Khazri, Sow, Moukoudi, and Neyou are on Africa Cup of nations, while Hamouma, Trauco, and Gnagnon miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Angelo Fulgini):
Angelo Fulgini is a French footballer who plays for Angers in Ligue as a midfielder. Fulgini played for the likes of AS de Saint-Paul-en-Foret, FC Vidauban, SC Douai and Valenciennes during his youth career and he continued playing for the Athenians at senior level.
After scoring eight goals in 80 appearances for Valenciennes from 2015 to 2017, he moved to Angers before the start of the 2017/2018 Ligue 1 campaign and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular at Stade Raymond-Kopa. Angelo Fulgini scored his first ever goal for les Scoistes on August 6, 2017 in a 2-2 draw with Bordeaux. Despite being born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on August 20, 1996, the Angers midfielder represents France on the international stage.
Angelo Fulgini has 3 caps for the France U21 team, while making 15 appearances for the U19 team. His main position is central midfield, but he is uses as both right-back and right midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (St Etienne):
Saint Etienne are a professional football club that compete in French Ligue 1. Les Verts were founded in 1919 by employees of a grocery store chain based in Saint Etienne. Saint Etienne wear green shirts and white shorts when playing at home ground and they play their home matches at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard.
The stadium was opener on 13 September, 1931 and following the renovation the capacity of the venue increased to 42 000. In 1981 les Verts won their tenth Ligue 1 trophy, but they have been in the shadow of Ligue 1 giants Lyon and PSG in the 21st century.
Speaking of the club’s European success, Saint Etienne made it to the European Cup (Champions League) final in 1976, but Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich proved to be a big catch for the French outfit. Anyhow, that is regarded as the club’s biggest success. It has to be noted that the likes of Michel Platini, Jacques Santini, Laurent Blanc and Aime Jacquet all played for Saint Etienne in the past.
