He started his senior career in 2014, and after ending his loan spells with East Fife and Queen of the South, he returned to the McDiarmid Park outfit in 2018.
He made his debut with the Saints in the Scottish Cup game against Albion Rovers on January 29, 2019. Jason Kerr has six caps with the Scotland U21 team, but he has yet to receive a call-up for the senior team.
He scored his first goal for St Johnstone in a 4-1 defeat to Rangers on February 27, 2018. His primary position on the field is a centre-back, but he is capable of producing good displays as a central midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right, and he wears the number 15 shirt at St Johnstone.
