Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Monday’s football game between Las Palmas and Leganes will bring down the curtain on day 33 of the current La Liga 2 campaign. La Union Deportiva did well to shock Real Valladolid at “Jose Zorilla”, but they need to keep on winning if they are to make it to the playoffs. The good news for the hosts is that all Raul Navas, Rafa Mujica, and Fabio Gonzalez are back from suspension.
The capital club, on the other hand, are undefeated in the previous eight league fixtures, but they will have a big fish to fry in Monday’s showdown. Considering that Leganes are not regarded as good travelers, we believe that there is a big value in betting on Las Palmas, who impressed in the last league match. Bruno Gonzalez remains on the sidelines with a long-term injury for the visiting side.
Highlighted Player (Raul Fernandez):
Born in Bilbao, Spain on March 13, 1988 Raul Fernandez is a 196-cm-tall goalkeeper who plays for La Liga side Levante. Fernandez played for the youth team of his home-town club Athletic Bilbao from 1998 to 2006 and he began his senior career at fellow Basque outfit Basconia. After making 29 appearances for the club in the 2006/2007 season Raul Fernandez returned to Athletic Bilbao in 2007 and it has to be noted that he played 19 games for the reserve team.
After spending the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons on loan at Conquense and Granada respectively the Spanish shoot-stopper started playing for Athletic Bilbao at senior level, but he made only five appearances for the Lions in La Liga.
In 2013 Raul Fernandez was loaned to Numancia and after ending his loan spell with los Rojillos he moved to Raving Santander. Nowadays the Basque footballer is a part of La Liga team Levante and you should know that he managed to keep 17 clean sheets in 33 appearances for los Levantinos in the 2016/2017 Segunda Division campaign.
Highlighted Team (Leganes):
Leganes are a Spanish football club that have mostly been playing in lower leagues. Los Pepineros play their home games at Batarque (Madrid) and the capacity of the stadium is just 8,138. Leganes secured their promotion to the Spanish La Liga for the first time ever in 2016 and, no doubt, that is considered the club’s biggest success.
Leganes’ bitterest rivals are fellow capital club Getafe and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other in the South Madrid derby.
The colour of the team’s home kit is white and blue, whilst their away kits are green. The likes of Pierre Webo, Samuel Eto’o, Ivan Zarandona, Jose Chamot, Catanha, Ruben Falcon, Jordi Lardin and Pedro Lago are famous players who were part of the Batarque outfit in the past. Lady Maria Victoria Pavon is the first female president in the history of the club and she has been in charge of the club since 2009.
